Home Sheds

If you’re looking for the ultimate backyard storage unit or work area, you are on the right track. A shed is the best solution to either of those needs, and there are plenty of different types to choose from. You just need to make sure you select the right one. How can you be sure, though? By really considering what you’re going to do with the unit.

If you plan on doing yard work inside the shed, you really should get a wooden or stone shed. The reason for this is because of their sturdiness and degree of insulation. Think about it. You will be in this shed doing difficult work and sweating. Do you want a metal shed that will just heat up in the sunlight? Definitely not. And not only do these provide satisfactory insulation, they’re safe and durable. A well made cedar wood shed is not likely to collapse or break down for any reason, and neither is a Tuff brand concrete shed. Hopefully this is important to you, and hopefully it will deter you from trying to go the DIY route unless you really know what you’re doing. The beauty of these units is also an excellent trait due to the fact that they complement any house very well and often match down to the very design (like a Victorian model, for example).

For pure storage purposes, the best choice is a synthetic plastic or vinyl bin from Rubbermaid. These rigid, durable units will last forever if you let them. They’re a great place to put all your miscellaneous tools that really don’t have a spot of their own, and you’ll know that nothing will ever get to them. They’re easily portable (so you can keep them from always being on the same spot of the lawn), easily modular, and easy to set up when you get them. They’re often on sale, as well.

If you’re just trying to temporarily house your car, think about a portable garage. These large tarps are easy to set up and take down, and are often tear proof. They will protect your car from unsightly water spots and can also be used as a tent at fairs.
