What all should you think about when building or updating a bathroom? There are so many different components you might leave some parts off if you’re not careful. One thing many people overlook is the toilet. While these fixtures are not the most glamorous thing you can have, they can be quite useful if you put some thought into it and select the right one. Did you know that there are pressure assisted and dual flushing models both designed to save water and prevent people from having to flush multiple times? They also do a better job at cleaning out the bowl. Then there are composting models, which are very environmentally friendly as they redistribute waste back into the ground after removing the water from it. American Standard makes quality toilets, but you’ll have to get another brand if you want a Japanese fixture, which has a spout to wash you off after you take care of business.

The cabinets and sink are a common part of the washroom people love to update. You can change the material of the cabinets from plastic to wood or vice versa or simply change the color. You can change the shape of the sink or get a fancy ceramic/porcelain counter top bowl to prevent splashing from occurring. The counter can be tile, what if you switched to granite or faux granite? If you have medicine cabinet vanity, you might think about switching from a frameless to a framed, depending on what you have.

The shower and bathtub are also points of interest. If you have a curtain style shower, you have the easiest job of all. You can get the curtain in virtually any fabric, any color (be it pink, blue, red, green, white, gold, etc) with any pattern (plaid, paisley, damask, gingham, stripes, or polka dots) and even with special designs like dragonflies or skulls. Then, you can get a special rod with a specific design in mind, like round or corner bent. If you want to keep going, think about getting special hooks as well. They can really say something about you. The shower liner can also be picked out and have designs on it as well.
